Lullaby is a bedtime app for children aged roughly 0 to 7. Safety for little listeners sits at the centre of every decision we make, from the first filter on a prompt to the last lullaby.
Age-appropriate stories, by design
Every story is tuned to the age you set for a profile. Younger listeners get gentler pacing, shorter chapters, simpler vocabulary, and no conflict sharper than a lost mitten. Older listeners can explore slightly bigger adventures, but the tone stays warm.
- No violence, weapons, or frightening imagery.
- No romance, innuendo, or adult situations.
- No real-world brands, political figures, or divisive topics.
- No references to death beyond the gentle, age-appropriate context of nature.
Kid mode
One tap in the header locks the app to just the bedtime shelf. No settings, no creator, no browsing, no surprises. To exit, a parent presses and holds for three seconds. Long enough that small hands cannot leave by accident.
How we filter content
Every request passes through a layered safety system before a story is generated:
- A block-list of topics we refuse to generate for any age.
- A classifier that rates every generated passage for age-appropriateness. Anything flagged is regenerated or discarded.
- A final human-curated prompt template that keeps the tone consistent across narrators.
Parents can add their own topics to avoid in Parent settings. Allergies, sensitive words, characters from books you would rather your child not hear about. Anything that matters in your home.
Your child's voice and likeness
Lullaby never records your child's voice. The "record your own voice" feature on the Family plan captures the parent's voice, with explicit consent, and is never used for anything other than narrating stories in your household.
We do not train any model on your data by default.
Reporting a problem
If a story contains anything that feels off, tap the flag in the player and we will investigate within 24 hours. You can also email safety@lullaby.app at any time.
Parental controls
- Set an age band per child to govern story difficulty.
- Topics-to-avoid list per household.
- Quiet hours that stop playback automatically.
- Subscription and profile management behind a press-and-hold gate.
Our commitment
We are parents too. The standard we hold Lullaby to is the standard we set for our own children's bedtime. If we would not play it for them, we will not ship it to you.
